About Arzak Restaurant

The family mansion of Alto de Miracruz is a restaurant where hospitality, history and modernity converge. The partnership forged between Juan Mari Arzak and his daughter Elena, has created the perfect marriage between traditional Basque cuisine and a more modern and inventive element. Creativity, staging and intense flavours are the result of experimentation in the Arzak laboratory, where they play with a "bank of flavours" of over 1,000 products. The second restaurant in Spain to be awarded three Michelin stars in 1989, it gained its first star back in 1974. There is a tasting menu that changes with the season, as well as a la carte dishes. Sommelier Mariano has been in charge of the wine for over 30 years, leading a young team in one of the most legendary cellars in the city. The extensive list includes collaborations, verticals and some surprising vintages of the world’s most renowned wineries from premier-producing regions including Rioja, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Piedmont.
