This needs no introduction. To speak of the Basque Country is to speak of Pedro Subijana, one of the greatest chefs of Spain’s nouvelle cuisine who oversees the kitchen at Akelarre Restaurant.

Situated on the slopes of Mount Igeldo in San Sebastian, the dining room is one of the most stunning in the world, in an idyllic setting overlooking the sea. This three- star restaurant is one of the most renowned in the city, offering a cuisine where culinary art meets scenic beauty. The menu here is steeped in a great tradition but offers a unique, avant-garde twist, with two tasting menus combining modern dishes with more classic iterations.

In addition to the great menu, Carlos Muro and Ciro Carro, a duo of totally different sommelier teams, make the perfect tandem. There is an impressive wine cellar with over 2000 references to enjoy, including some rarities and unusual producers from around the world as well as some great Spanish wines from some of the best known producers.
