About Simon Wine Emporium

If you want to do a deep dive into the wines of Stellenbosch, visit the Simon Wine Emporium, which offers more than 145 wines from South Africa’s first and most historic wine route. The wines come from members of Stellenbosch Wine Routes, plus some of the best old vine wines from the region are also featured, thanks to the Old Vine project.

There is lots of space, so it’s great for groups, and it’s nestled in the heart of Stellenbosch which is very walkable, with lots to see and do.

If you are looking for South African icon wines, this is the place where you can taste them all next to each other, including Meerlust Rubicon and Kanonkop Paul Sauer. There’s also plenty of the first Méthode Cap Classique wine, Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel.

You can also buy wines by the bottle to take home. Staff will curate mixed cases, whether you want to taste the six top Pinotages, Chenin, or even the icon wines.

If you want to pair your wines, the attached restaurant, De Warenmarkt, has you covered. They serve South African cuisine and classic bistro food. The service is excellent, and it offers a great chance to learn more about the region.
