Saint Peter Wine List
About Saint Peter
Seafood and Sydney are a quintessential pair but ask any local where the best fish is, and the answer is guaranteed to be Saint Peter. The only Australian restaurant to make the World’s 50 Best Restaurants long list in 2024 (it edged in at #98), Saint Peter – and more specifically, chef and co-owner Josh Niland – has been awing diners with an innovative and (frankly) mind-blowing approach to seafood since opening in 2016.
In 2024, Josh and (wife and Saint Peter co-owner) Julie Niland upgraded from their original, very intimate Oxford Street digs to the heritage-listed Grand National Hotel, now complete with front bar, dining room, and private dining room.
Head Sommelier Houston Barakat maintains a smart, comprehensive wine list, focused sensibly on some of New South Wales’ best offerings, aligning with the kitchen philosophy of sourcing as locally as possible. But fear not: if you’re after an enviable selection of Champagne, white Burgundy, saline Mediterranean whites, orange wine, Beaujolais, Barolo, or even sake, you’ll be well catered to.
PS: don’t skip the cocktail menu.
