About The Slanted Door
The Slanted Door is temporarily closed.
The Slanted Door has been a major fixture in San Francisco’s food scene since the mid ‘90s, when it opened in a small space in the Mission District. Now the popular restaurant sits along the waterfront of the Embarcadero in a spacious corner spot inside the SF Ferry Building. There patrons can enjoy dishes small to large off of an authentic and inspired Vietnamese menu.
About the The Slanted Door Wine List
Director Chaylee Priete’s wine list would be a gem in any establishment, but it just so happens that her assortment of mostly fresh, delicate wines of all shades handles the nuances of celebrity chef Charles Phan’s fresh, textural cuisine perfectly. Her exemplary German Riesling section — considered by many to be one of the best in the city — is stacked with favorites like aged, single-vineyard bottlings from Hexamer in the Nahe, Fritz Haag in the Mosel, and Leitz in the Reinghau, among others.
BYO
The corkage fee is $35/bottle and $65/magnum. There is a two 750ml bottle maximum.
