About Restaurant Betong

Very soon after opening in the eastern part of the Bjørvika area, Oslo’s newer and busy cultural and gastronomic hub, Restaurant Betong was on everyone’s lips and its trend factor high. The food is excellently made, with a big focus on the quality of the produce. That said, the restaurant is not at all snobby but, rather, down to earth. And this mentality is brought to the table by the waiters, who create an affable, cheerful, almost party-like ambiance – but always within limits. The playlist is beautifully curated and the volume is adjusted according to the guests’ preferences.

The food choice for the guests is mainly between the two set menus, but there is a wine bar option via LilleBetong, which is in the same building (either with one or more dishes, or even the full menu). LilleBetong is a daytime cafe, famous on social media for its creative baked goods and sandwiches.

Betong is a restaurant that hails natural wines. But not just any: the selection is carefully made, so you won’t have any ‘shitty’ wines. There are also abundant options for those who decline any natural wine. This makes the wine offering at Betong different from most other restaurants – and something to look out for.

For each menu they suggest pairings with well chosen, more moderately priced wines. Both the food and wine are very reasonably priced, which is a key success factor for Betong, especially among younger people.
