Aase E. Jacobsen
Oslo Ambassador
aaseaperitif
Aase E. Jacobsen is Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Apéritif, a bi-monthly print and digital drinks magazine much admired amongst the trade in Norway. Also a key writer for the title, journalist Aase boasts 40 years’ publishing experience, having worked for one of Norway’s largest publishing companies before starting Apéritif. She also spent three years in the food industry early in her career, involving sensory analysis and product development.
Growing up both in the mountains in Southern Norway and on the coast of Northern Norway, Aase studied and worked in Bergen before moving to Oslo in the mid 1980s. She has lived close to Bjørvika – “the most recent restaurant hub in Oslo” – since 1990. “I really love Oslo,” she tells us.
She came to wine in the late 1970s by experimenting with producing her own fruit and flower wines, and brewing mead. Later on, she became fascinated by more classical wine styles and travelled to wine-producing regions such as France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Wine and food have formed Aase’s full-time job since the mid 1990s. She was involved in establishing Slow Food in the Nordic Countries, has worked with the Norwegian Sommelier Association for many years, and speaks as a panellist across the world.
In autumn 2025, Aase joined the Star Wine List team as a judge in the Star Wine List of the Year Norway 2025 awards before being announced as the new Oslo Ambassador.
