About Mielżyński na Burakowskiej
Mielżyński na Burakowskiej has a strong position among wine drinkers in Warsaw. It's one of the first true wine venues in the city, located in the Wola district, close to the famous Powązki Cemetery. For six or seven months a year, you can sit on the garden patio and totally forget you are in the big city.
Inside, there is a huge space for wine, organised like a warehouse. This matches the rest of the interior, with wooden tables and red brick walls. Always crowded, Mielżyński offers some snacks and simple dishes, but they are better known for the wine.
About the Mielżyński na Burakowskiej Wine List
Mielżyński encourages you to explore their space instead of choosing from a printed menu – they don’t have a wine list, and that’s been the case for many years.
Europe is a key continent for the wine selection here, with many traditional and high-quality producers. From Italy, you might find great estates like Tedeschi or Marion from Veneto, or Rivetto from Piemonte. You can then expect from juicy and big wines from Spain, and iconic producers from Portugal.
The selection of French wines is vast, with some big Bordeaux names as well as smaller producers from the Loire Valley, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley. The German selection is fantastic too, with producers such as Georg Breuer from Rheingau and Sybille Kuntz from the Mosel. You might also find some older vintages!
