Opasły Tom Wine List
About Opasły Tom
Opasły Tom is located by the Grand Theatre, having moved there from another famous spot on Foksal Street. The new Opasły Tom had a few years to build – or not – its reputation as a major fine dining destination in Warsaw… and it has succeeded!
The interior design is fascinating, clearly rooted in Art Deco but in an unexpectedly fresh and light way – bold yet classic, with distinct interpretations for different rooms. This is one of the reasons it was recognised in 2020 by Wallpaper magazine and later by 50 Best Discovery (though, as you might guess, the latter less for its design).
The cuisine is based on Polish recipes, using primarily Polish ingredients, and it consistently maintains a high standard. The food is light but intense in flavour. Good cuisine requires good ingredients, and these come from excellent local suppliers who have been working with the owners for years; the Kręgliccy family, who are also behind several other concepts in Warsaw, including the famous food market Forteca Kręgliccy, are all about a focus on ingredients.
About the Opasły Tom Wine List
The wine list is democratic yet personal. You can find classic categories from great producers and, whilst there are also few new wave estates, the common elements are minerality and elegance.
France (including regions like the Jura or Savoie), Austria, Italy and Spain are important but you can get wines from Slovenia or Greece too – all featuring some significant producers.
Take the opportunity to order something from the selection of Polish wines: these producers are carefully selected of course and, typically, can be called friends of the house.
