About La Sucursal
Situated on the 3rd floor in the modern Veles y Vents building, overlooking Valencia's harbour, La Sucursal is a clean, modern restaurant that serves elegant, refined dishes in different tasting menus. It was founded by one of Spain's culinary heroes, Loles Salvador, who sadly passed away in 2021. Current chef Fran Espí was raised in the Sucursal cooking academy before spending time in some of the most prestigious restaurants both in Spain and abroad. The dishes are elegant yet playful twists on traditional dishes and local ingredients. Though the atmosphere may be a bit stiff, especially if you don't speak Spanish, the service is very helpful and attentive.
Even though the food itself is a reason to dine at La Sucursal, the wine list is even more so. With both famous and not so famous Spanish producers, anyone can find their satisfaction here. Not looking for Spanish wines? Then the international selection is excellent too. Going all-out, you could find a nice Dom Perignon Oenotheque 1962 here. Or an '83 or '90 if you want to save a bit of money. Though stemware could be a little more delicate, the list and the service make up for that. Prices are a little more elevated than elsewhere, but still very 'Spanish' and nevertheless very understandable looking at the prestigious character of the restaurant.
