About Casa Julian

This legendary Basque steakhouse first opened its doors back in the 1950’s and has since become the benchmark for grilled meat. Founder Matías Gorrotxategi refined his technique that achieves 'the best T-bone steak in the world', while his son, Xabi is in charge of the steak and peppers. Located in Tolosa, a town a few kilometres from San Sebastian, Xabi offers a menu specialising in sausages, grilled peppers and, of course, the best cuts of meat.

The wine cellar is another fundamental part of this renowned venue where they have a climate-controlled cellar open to guests. The wine list majors on red wines to pair with the steak, and there are some great vintages of Rioja here , as well as an impressive international selection.
