The semi-finalists of the ASI Best Sommelier of World 2023 are announced

After a nail-biting first round, the ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2023 has announced the 17 sommeliers who will compete in the semi-finals for the coveted title.

The ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2023 competition attracted nearly 70 competitors from around the world, each of whom was among the best in their country. A number of Star Wine List ambassadors and Star Wine List of the Year jury members were among them.

The group has been put through the first round and the semi-finalists have been announced.

In no particular order, the semi-finalists are:

The semi-finals will take place today in Paris, France, behind closed doors.

The names of the finalists will be announced live during the livestream on Sunday, 12th February 2023.

The ASI Best Sommelier of the Word contest, held every three years, is the world’s premier sommelier contest. The previous contest was in Antwerp, Belgium in 2019, and this year takes place in Paris, France.
