Diva Wine List
About Diva
Diva restaurant is located on Praslin, the second largest island of the Seychelles. If you make it here, you can truly say you’ve reached paradise. The restaurant belongs to the Constance Lemuria resort, which you will find on the northernmost tip of the island. It has its own little private bay, with blinding white sand, crystal clear, turquoise waters, and surrounded by palm trees. Then there’s an 18-hole golf course, a lovely cocktail spot named HUNA Bar, and two more restaurants as well: The Nest, overlooking the bay, and The Legend. But Diva is the fine-dining option, where you get a 50-plus-page wine list to rummage through. The cuisine is Mediterranean, inspired by local ingredients and flavours from the Creole kitchen. You’ll enjoy a semi al fresco dining experience, with the choice of sitting on the terrace or indoors – but since there are no walls, a nice breeze cools down the hot evenings (of which are many) either way.
If your travel companions are not as into wine as you, you might want to check out the list upfront so that you don’t get stuck reading for the best part of the evening while the rest of the party get ‘hangry’ waiting for you to make your choice. There is an abundance of French wines, with a great focus on the Rhône Valley. Burgundy is also very well represented and you will find some of the top Bordeaux names, as well as more reasonably priced wines from the region. The Champagne list is extensive and you’ll find some older vintages too. And if you’re into Côteaux Champenois there are just a few, but they are amazing (for those with deep pockets though). South African wines are also a big part of the wine list. With the best of the best from many well-known wine regions, ranging from small, boutique producers to the famous names, there is something for everyone – including an extensive sweet wine selection. The dedicated staff is extremely friendly, with a knowledgeable sommelier team very happy to make recommendations or just chat about wine.
If you’re island hopping across the Seychelles and find yourself on Mahé, you will find the sister resort to Lemuria, the Constance Ephelia – its Cyann restaurant is also one for your list.
