About Constance Moofushi Maldives
Apart from the fact that the Maldives might be paradise on earth when it comes to beauty, a visit to Constance Moofushi will let you and your wallet realise that you have also arrived in wine heaven.
Moofushi is yet another member in the Constance Hotels & Resorts family, with hotels spread around the gorgeous islands of the Indian Ocean. Star Wine List has previously written about two of their resorts on Mauritius – Belle Mare Plage and Prince Maurice – which also boast amazing wine cellars. All wines are curated by the group’s Corporate Sommelier, Jérôme Faure and his rich team of more than 100 sommeliers.
Moofushi is an all-inclusive resort on a private island, where guests have access to a considerably large selection of wines included in the package. These wines are mouthwatering in themselves and you will find examples from around the world. However, there is a second list for those willing to spend just a few extra dollars, and I mean just a few. The list is jammed with gems from top-end producers: Super Tuscans, Bordeaux, Burgundies, Champagnes aplenty, but also a fantastic range of mouthwatering wines from South Africa and New Zealand.
Head sommelier Madu and his knowledgeable, service-minded team are always happy to suggest new and exciting wines for every occasion. The resort has two restaurants: the buffet restaurant, Manta, and the à la carte beach grill Alizée. The wine list is available at both restaurants, and if the wines haven’t already lured you to check this place out, maybe the fact that “barefoot chic” is Moofushi’s slogan will – all guests are encouraged to walk barefoot at all times!
And if you happen to be in the neighbourhood, there is also the sister resort Constance Halaveli, which is definitely worth a visit too.
