Star Wine List of the Year Norway 2024
On 13 October we will return to Norway to celebrate the best wine lists and the teams behind them for the fifth time. All restaurants and wine bars in Norway are welcome to enter, free of charge.
Star Wine List of the Year Norway will be held at the Sommelier Day in Oslo on 13 October, arranged by the Norwegian Sommelier Association. It is the third event on our 2024-2025 International tour of wine list celebrations.
How to register
Our last day for accepting entries was 18 August 2024 and finalists have now been announced – read the full list here.
The winners will be revealed on 13 October 2024.

Expert jury
As always - the jury for Norway is filled with both international and local top names from the wine world.
- Salvatore Castano, Best Sommelier of Europe & Africa 2021
- Nina Jensen, Second Best Sommelier of the World 2023 (ASI)
- Piotr Pietras, Master Sommelier
- Merete Bø, Best Sommelier of The Nordics/Norway.
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list overall
• Best Long List
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short ListLess than 200 references.
• Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Nyetimber
• Best By the Glass List, presented by Riedel
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List
For the Sustainable Wine List category, not only the wine list is evaluated, but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a questionnaire in the application.
RECURRING CATEGORIES:
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
• Best California Wine List
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
