Trivet restaurant in London has been awarded the Best Medium-Sized Wine List of the 2023 UK Star Wine List of the Year with The Buyer.

"We’ve been lucky the last couple of years. I think we have a very good list, but you always face a lot of great competitors. But we put a lot of work into our list," said Trivet’s Philipp Reinstaller after the victory.

"The wine list is organized in chronological order, showing the history of wine, starting with Georgia and Armenia, Turkey and Greece, which I think is good for customers, as well as it is for us working here, because we get to try and learn about many different wines."

The Medium-Sized category is given to the best wine list with between 200 and 600 references.

The judges were highly impressed by Trivet's wine list. “This list is just a great edit,” said judge Jan Konetzki. “It never gets boring as we learn about the history of wine while being encouraged to drink outside of the box. And we are here for every glass of it!”

The award was presented at the Winemakers Club in London on Monday, 20 February 2023.

About the 2023 Star Wine List of the Year UK with The Buyer awards

Star Wine List of the Year is an international celebration of the great wine lists of the world and the people who create them.

“These are awards that celebrate the work of those who work at the very pinnacle of wine,” says Krister Bengtsson, the founder and publisher of Star Wine List.

In the UK, the award has been a joint venture between Star Wine List, based in Sweden, and The Buyer, the UK’s top digital wine trade publication.

The judges are a star-studded lineup of sommeliers: Ronan Sayburn MS, Piotr Pietras MS, and Jan Konetzki. They were joined by Star Wine List’s UK Ambassador, Ruth Spivey.

The 2023 Star Wine List of the Year UK with The Buyer is part of Star Wine List’s international awards, now the benchmark for wine lists. Other competitions have taken place in the Nordics, South Africa and Australia.

The winners of the international categories have qualified to take part in our International Final in June, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents, such as South Africa, Australia, UK and Sweden.
