Inspiration Day preview: how to build an award-winning wine list
What are the secrets to building an award-winning wine programme? Join Star Wine List’s Inspiration Day in Stockholm, on 10 November, and learn from three sommeliers who have won Gold Stars at our Swedish wine list awards over the past year.
Learn from three very different winners from the 2025 Star Wine List of the Year Sweden awards about how they built their wine and hospitality programmes – from managing a huge wine cellar in the south of Sweden, to offering competitive mark-ups on rare gems at a tiny Stockholm pizzeria.
During a staged panel discussion, these sommeliers will enlighten the audience on how they put their lists together, from choosing the wines all the way through to serving them at the table.
How do you source the wines you want? How do you price them? How do you describe them? How do you get guests to navigate the wine list as you want them to? How do you create a great by-the-glass programme? What are you looking at amongst your competition?
These are just some of the questions we’ll ask three of the most experienced and influential sommeliers in Sweden right now.
We’ll also hear what trends they’re seeing in wine and guest behaviour at the moment, and how they plan to develop their programmes heading into 2026.
Our sommelier speakers will include:
Rubén Sanz Ramiro, PM & Vänner, Växjö (Grand Prix, Best Long List, Best Austrian Wine List, Best Beaujolais Wine List, Sweden, 2025)
Alexandra Karosis, Stockholm Stadshotell, Stockholm (Best Medium-Sized List, Sweden, 2025)
Anton Hansson, Bar Nacka, Stockholm (Best Newcomer, Sweden, 2025)
About Inspiration Day
Besides these sommeliers, attendees at November’s Inspiration Day will also meet and learn from Master of Wine Jancis Robinson and Sweden's first Master Sommelier Andreas Rosendal. And they’ll get the chance to taste a number of top wines during the walk-around tasting, which will run throughout the afternoon.
