In less than 10 years, Star Wine List has become a reference of its own in the wine world, and often referred to as the Michelin Guide of wine. Here, Founder and Publisher Krister Bengtsson explains how this position helps partners reach new audiences, both online and in person.

At Star Wine List, we celebrate the world’s greatest wine bars and restaurants, and the teams behind them. Since launching in 2017, we’ve built a trusted international guide that wine lovers, sommeliers, and industry professionals turn to for inspiration and discovery. All our selections are curated by wine professionals, such as sommeliers and wine writers.

Today our guides and selections cover more than 50 countries around the world. Every week, we reach a highly engaged audience of wine professionals and wine lovers. And at the core of these audiences are the sommeliers and restaurants that we highlight and showcase.

That is why our commercial partners work with us, to connect both online and in person with the top people in the industry, the ones who can help to tell their stories and build their brands – by serving their wines.

Or, in the words of one of our long-standing partners, “I think there is no better event than Star Wine List of the Year to meet such a great variety of working sommeliers from all different kinds of restaurants” (Oliver Chramosta, Austrian Wine).

Star Wine List of the Year – meet the best teams in person

As well as our online reach, our partners also work with us to connect in person. Our wine list awards and events attract the very best among teams in markets such as London, New York, Paris and Copenhagen. Over the past year, the sommelier teams at Eleven Madison Park, Taillevent, Geranium and Noble Rot, to name a few, have joined our awards, therefore meeting our partners and tasting their wines.

And in June 2025, sommeliers from 20 countries travelled to Vienna to join the International Final of our wine list awards. At that event, we were very happy to be able to serve Château d'Yquem, who joined as a category partner for the first time.

The 2025/2026 tour has just started and covers the following countries and cities:
