Albert Wendesten wins Best Sommelier of Sweden 2025

Albert Wendesten has won the Best Sommelier of Sweden championship, at an event held in Stockholm on 31 March.
Wendesten, a sommelier at Stockholm's Frantzén, met some serious competition in the final with John Sterner and Ellen Lindegren. Sterner is the wine director at The Winery Hotel in Solna and has years of experience in Stockholm restaurants, although it had been 10 years since he last competed. Lindegren works at Gondolen in Stockholm. All three restaurants are Red Stars on Star Wine List.
Albert Wendesten has already won the Chaine des Rotisseurs International Young Sommelier Challenge, merely adding to his trophy cabinet this week.
