In 1697, Louise Escousses sold the property to Master Simon Malescot, advisor to King Louis XIV to the Parliament of Bordeaux. He gave his surname to the castle. On February 5, 1827, Count Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Exupéry acquired Château Malescot. Great-grandfather of the aviator and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, he decided to enrich the name of the castle with his name. An expensive lifestyle led Jean-Baptiste's widow to auction her property in 1853. On June 1, 1955, Paul and Roger Zuger acquired the estate, which now has only 7 hectares of vines. Today the property has 28 hectares in the Margaux appellation. Three generations of Zuger succeed each other to refloat and restore its reputation. It was therefore in 1994 that Jean-Luc took over from his father Roger.
