About Zarzo
One of the hotspots of the southern Netherlands is Zarzo in Eindhoven. Spanish-born chef Adrian Zarzo Habraken is an exceptionally skilled chef who expresses his Spanish roots flamboyantly and energetically in his exciting modern cuisine. Trained by both traditional, avant-garde and contemporary chefs like Cees Helder, Santi Santamaria and Jonnie Boer, he masters a broad range of techniques and influences.
The restaurant, in urban down-town Eindhoven, is a modern, energetic approach to high-end dining. No linen, but pleasant comfortable design tables in an open atmosphere with good acoustics, playful art and great glassware, representing the new generation of top restaurants.
About the Zarzo Wine List
What is not to say about this wine list? Up there with the best in the country, or better, Europe. Both extremely comprehensive and very diverse. With the chef's Spanish roots, and that he also used to be a sommelier at 3-star restaurant De Librije, it is no wonder that the Spanish section is the best there is. Old vintages of Viña Tondonia Blanco, new up-and-coming producers and a terrific selection of Sherry wines by the bottle and glass add to great classics like Único and Pingus.
But don't underestimate the love for great Burgundy wines. All-in-all, a don't miss for wine lovers who visit either the Netherlands, Belgium – or Europe for that matter.
