About Brasserie Bellevue
Eindhoven has an extensive array of fine-dining restaurants that may lead you to forget that there is also a nice brasserie in the city centre with an extensive wine list. Food at Brasserie Bellevue is in line with traditional French brasseries with well-made pâté, steak tartare, fruit de mer, shrimp cocktail and escargots (there are few vegetarian options). It’s great as it’s one of the few good places open for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays. Portions are generous, so be careful when it comes to ordering.
Service is solid with good stemware and serving temperatures (staff will discuss with you if you want it served differently or decanted, for example). There are some decently priced by-the-glass options, but a bottle is probably what you would want to go for with a great variety of styles for any palate. Famous producers large and small fill much of the list, but you’ll also find a lovely array of solid but lesser-known producers. The focus, as you’d expect in a French-style brasserie, is on France with some strolls around in Spain, Italy and the US. A welcome change for Eindhoven’s fine-dining scene.
