About 1910 Restaurant
Built in 1910 (hence the name), this restaurant sits on a square in the heart of Eindhoven city centre. Although it is quite large (with several private dining rooms plus 60 extra restaurant seats), the atmosphere is easy-going and very relaxed. With many choices on the menu mixing a range of cuisines from all over the world, reservations are recommended here, especially at weekends, when it turns into a busy, crowded space with lots of buzz.
The four-strong sommelier team takes care of the wine service. The wine list contains over 350 references from just about everywhere, with Riesling the favourite grape variety of all – there is always some served by the glass. And there are usually over 40 different picks by the glass, at a variety of price points. In fact, this great wine selection is all very reasonably priced, which is unusual, since prices are skyrocketing everywhere else.
The wine list itself has recently undergone a total redesign and is now accessible digitally on the website, in full. It means that you can very quickly choose your bottle, sorting the range by vintage, grape variety, region, etc. – very user-friendly, I must admit. 1910 also has a special wine club, which offers its members regular special tasting evenings.
