“Wine without a dress code” is the motto at this very relaxed wine bar that doubles as a wine shop. Stephanie Döring, the owner and the sommelier, is a great believer that wine is for everyone. She has set her wine bar up to be accessible for all; to teach people about wine in a non-pretentious way. More experienced wine drinkers come for the lesser-known funky stuff and the relaxed vibe. Novices often book a tasting or can ask the experienced staff for recommendations. They have a nice selection of charcuterie and cheese to enjoy with the wine.

Weinladen is set up as a shop in the front, so you can check the shelves and see what you want to drink. In the back, you will find big wooden tables and welcoming couches. The location is on a very cool street, and if you get one of the benches in the front window, you will get a good feeling for the neighbourhood. If you are a wine lover in Hamburg, this is the go-to place to grab a quick glass and meet friends.

The wine selection is fun, funky and very price-friendly. This is not the place to get rare Burgundy wines, but rather to chill out and drink something interesting from a lesser-known winery. The list has a strong focus on younger winemakers and smaller family wineries from Germany, Italy, Austria and a bit of France. It is a wine shop as well, so you can order stuff online if you like it or pick up a bottle to go.
