Located in Central-Mitte, Frea isn't just another hip restaurant on Torstrasse in Berlin. It’s the world's first zero-waste restaurant that deliberately avoids plastic packaging. The aim is, as far as possible, not to produce any waste. In times when 100 million tons of food are thrown away worldwide every year and the oceans are full of plastic, this is a big challenge for a restaurant that has its own small ecosystem. “For us, zero waste means sustainability. The menu changes daily, due to the season and the quality of the produce; ”If it smells or looks funny, don't cook it!” is the kitchen's simple philosophy. The restaurant is minimalist but refined. Please book in advance as it's quite often fully booked. Another benefit of this restaurant is that when you sit and dine at the bar, you have the feeling that you are right in the kitchen, watching what the boys are up to.

Austrian Wine List of the Year Germany, presented by Austrian Wine 2025
A wonderful place nestled by the busy Kreuzberg canal. Sebastian Frank, named Best Chef in Europe 2018, has a very unique approach to his kitchen: He is Austrian and is cooking with his childhood memories! He and his team take on traditional Austrian recipes – he goes as far back as the Austro-Hungarian Empire – and brings those memories to the modern age. For Sebastian, vegetables are equal to meat and fish but be aware; this is not a vegetarian restaurant!

Schloss Hohenstein is located in the Coburg region in Franken and is known as the "Jewel in Franken". In 2020, the chateau was reopened under new management by the gastro couple Alexandra and Andreas Rehberger. Their commitment is honest and straightforward: respect for people, animals and nature, with passion for quality and detail. The regional food menu is created by Andreas, who is an Austrian Michelin Star Chef (ex Chef de Cuisine for Paco Perez in Hotel Stue in Berlin). All produce is fresh from South Germany and Austria.
