This is one of Wynwood’s best restaurants, and there will be few who would disagree with me. The concept is by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole, who brings his elevated Japanese cuisine to South Florida via its original home of Austin, TX. From sushi to sashimi, hot dishes like Bok Choy, and wagyu beef, the whole menu at Uchi is mouth-wateringly delicious.
When it comes to wine, the list isn’t long, but offers eclectic options from sake to sparkling, red, white, rosé, and even skin contact and dessert wines. There are a few recognizable bottles, but also some that may not be as familiar, which makes the menu ripe for exploration. From Muscadet to Malmsey Madeira, there is a little corner of Uchi’s wine list that will surely suit your drinking mood.
