Dal Zovo Wine Bar

Just across the river from Verona’s historic centre, nestled amongst a cluster of fashionable newcomers on the elegant Via IV Novembre, Dal Zovo Wine Bar is a longstanding favourite for a glass of wine or aperitivo. Established in 1958 by Ermenegildo Dal Zovo, the popular bar remains in family hands, with Mattia representing the third generation of the Dal Zovo family to run the bar.

The venue is immediately recognizable thanks to the retro-style “Cin Cin Cin Cinzano” sign above the door that recalls the classic Vermouth and sparkling wine brand of the 1980s. Internally, the bar area itself is extremely snug, but the pleasant external courtyard to one side and a handful of tables on the pavement in front provide ample seating for a light snack or early-evening aperitivo. As well as a fine selection of local wines, Dal Zovo is a popular place for a classic Italian aperitivo or late-night cocktail.
