About Bar.Kar
Another exciting project from the team of Eat and Cook, where chefs Lee Zhe Xi and Soh Yong Zhi have moved into Malaysian-style open flame cooking.
The name Bar.Kar stems from the Malay word “bakar,” meaning “burn” or “flame,” combined with the open kitchen concept and the bar counter set up of this space. The aim is to revive community cooking through rough wood and charcoal open-flame dining that highlights bold Malaysian and Southeast Asian flavours. It’s similar to Eat and Cook, where ingredients and the cuisine lean more towards Malaysian flavours.
The wine programme at Bar.Kar – named as the “Sip Plan” – has a wide range of wines from different parts of the Old and New Worlds, stretching from France, Spain, Germany and Italy in the Old, and Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Argentina and Chile from the New, all of which pair well with dishes from the restaurant.
BYO
