About Bref by Darren Chin
The second venture of chef Darren Chin, Bref is a casual dining restaurant founded in 2018, originally in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. It relocated to the M Resort in December 2023 and added afternoon tea at the same time. Bref offers more simplified dishes than Darren’s other venues, yet full of complexity, texture and flavour.
Sitting right above another of the group’s restaurants, Gai, both share the same masterlist for wine. Curated by Izzat Shamshuddin with the assistance of Strauss Gan, the list is extensive, with a good selection of Old and New World producers. They also offer a good by-the-glass list and Coravin programme, and feature a selected producer each month, making them one of the top wine list offerings in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
