Star Wine List of the Year New York – 25 March
On March 25, we will return to New York to celebrate the best wine lists and the teams behind them for the second time. All restaurants and wine bars in the New York Metro area are welcome to enter, free of charge.
Star Wine List of the Year New York will be included in our 2023-2024 International tour for the second time, and will be held in New York City on March 25.
The registrations are open for any bar or restaurant in the New York Metro area, free of charge. Last day to enter was Sunday February 11, 2024.
Jury
The jury for the second Star Wine List of the Year competition in New York has been confirmed, and includes a top line-up of esteemed wine experts who will be poring over the wine lists of some of the city's finest wine bars and wine restaurants in an attempt to identify the very best.
The four-person panel will consist of:

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list overall
• Best Long List
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List, presented by Premium Estates of Austria
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
<200 references.
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
• Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Nyetimber
• Best California Wine List
• Best By the Glass List, presented by New Zealand Wine
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List, presented by Lingua Franca
For the Sustainable Wine List category, not only the wine list is evaluated, but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a questionnaire in the application.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2024, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
