Manhattan restaurant Wallsé picked up the Gold for the Best Austrian Wine List in New York on Monday. It was the second time they won the award.

"Twenty-five years ago in New York City, this category might have listed restaurants that simply had one Austrian Grüner Veltliner and Riesling on it. But, the city's love for these grapes--and so many others from Austria, both white AND red, grew quickly. Now we scour lists for obscure cuvées and vintage depth, too," said jury member Christy Canterbury MW.

The award was given at the event at Jupiter Restaurant at Rockefeller Center on Monday, and the winner will get a trip to the VieVinum conference in Vienna in May.

Wallsé is also qualified for the International Final of Star Wine List of the Year in Stockholm in June.
