Star Wine List hits 40K followers on Instagram!
What’s that? Yep, you heard us: Star Wine List has just surpassed quite a marker on Instagram and now boasts more than 40,000 followers. We’d like to say a big thank you to each one of you. And keep your eyes peeled – there’s plenty more to come.
Star Wine List joined Instagram on 3 January 2017 and, nearly 2,000 posts later, here we are with 40,226 digital disciples (at the time of publication).
Over the years, Krister and his team have shared news of Red Star recommendations from ambassadors across the world (now located in 46 countries), Gold Star winners at Star Wine List of the Year events (now a worldwide awards tour), insights from our commercial partners across the industry, and news of our global wine network – from the results of sommelier competitions to restaurant openings and closings, staff changes and more; as well as highlighting the events not to be missed worldwide from our events calendar.
For example, did you hear that Milan Ambassador Cristina Mercuri became Italy’s first female Master of Wine, or read our interview with the family from San Sebastián’s Rekondo when they took double Gold at Star Wine List of the Year Spain, or meet our new Loire Ambassador Jérôme Boullier, all earlier this year? How about watching Stockholm Ambassador Andreas Grube introduce his top picks in the Swedish capital and Jancis Robinson explain what she’s really looking for in a wine list, both in 2025? Or learning why two-time Best Sommelier of Denmark Nina Jensen chose to turn her back on the wine industry at the end of 2024?
That’s a lot of wine content.
Besides all that, it’s always a thrill for us to see Red, White, Gold or Silver Star logos so proudly displayed in wine bars and restaurants across the world – such is the power of social media for sharing all of these happy images and videos.
Today, we have ambassadors in 46 countries all sending us regular updates, which has taken us to 3,000 Red Star listings worldwide, in addition to nearly 2,000 White Stars – they can all be viewed on our map. Our awards tour, this season, is stopping in 13 territories across Europe, Asia and the USA, with the rest of the globe covered by our International Open and a grand finale taking place in Sweden’s emerging wine country this June. And we’ve introduced an exciting day-long event that’s open to all (in and out of the industry), called Inspiration Day – the first edition was held in Stockholm last November and you’ll see it popping up elsewhere too… There’s a lot to keep up with, and we’re delighted to share it with all of you.
