Norwegian somms – time to enter your wine lists!

Star Wine List of the Year is back for a new international tour, and on 24 October we will celebrate the best wine lists in Norway. Sommeliers, make sure to enter your wine lists in time – last day to enter is 30 September.

Star Wine List of the Year is our way of recognizing the top wine lists and the teams behind them. In Norway, we are teaming up with the Norwegian Sommelier Association and Kapital magazine to celebrate the best wine lists of Norway. On 24 October, the winners of "Norges Beste Vinkart" will be announced. Several category winners will be invited to the Star Wine List of the Year International Final in June 2022.

This is the second time Star Wine List is cooperating with Norges Beste Vinkart, and just as last year, there will be some changes from how Star Wine List of the Year is usually conducted:

• Star Wine List venues in Norway should send their wine lists to Kapital to enter the competition, no later than 30 September (see more info on competition website.
• There are seven regular categories in Norges Beste Vinkart, with Star Wine List of the Year names within parenthesis: Norges Beste Vinkart (Grand Prix), Beste "Lille" Vinkart (Short Wine List), Folkets favoritt, Beste vinmeny, Årets Nykommer, Beste Champagne/Musserende vinkart (Sparkling Wine List), Beste Vin på glass (By The Glass).
• In addition to these seven categories - Star Wine List's regular international sommelier jury will decide the Best Austrian Wine List category, in cooperation with Austrian Wine and the Best Californian Wine List, presented by California Wines.
• Of the seven regular categories, the winners of Grand Prix, Short Wine List, Sparkling Wine List and By the Glass will qualify for the Global Final of Star Wine List of the Year in June 2022.

How to enter
To enter the the competition, venues in Norway should send their wine lists to Kapital, no later than 30 September (see more info on competition website).
