Celebrating California Wine Month across Europe with the California Stars
It’s California Wine Month! And we know the best Californian wine lists across Europe to help you celebrate. Explore our California Stars for a taste of the Golden State (and tell us if you have a wine list we should know about).
It’s official: September is California Wine Month, dedicated to the huge array of wines produced in this illustrious winemaking region. Recognised by the California State Legislature, this month honours the state’s proliferation of wine producers – in every style – as it marks its 175th anniversary.
“California Wine Month shines a light on the hard work and heritage of our state’s winegrowers, many of them multigenerational farmers who care deeply about their land, their communities and the future,” says Karen Ross, secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
“Wine connects people to California in a way that’s uniquely personal. Whether you’re walking a vineyard at harvest or enjoying a bottle at your table, you’re experiencing something truly rooted in our state’s culture and values.”
Throughout the month, wine lovers in California can enjoy special tasting menus, vineyard tours and more.
But what about those of us who can’t travel to the Golden State? Luckily, we have Star Wine List’s California Stars – wine bars and restaurants across Europe with brilliant selections of Californian wines – to give you a taste of all the excitement.
About California Stars
We have three levels of California Stars. A 1-Star venue features up to 10 Californian wines on their list, a 2-Star has 11-50, and a 3-Star boasts over 50 references. Any restaurant can apply and, if successful, each one will be included in our California Stars guides; they then benefit from additional social media promotion and Capstone team trainings.
