Montefico, La Ca' Növa, "Bric Mentina", 2018As you approach the village of Barbaresco, you'll find the Rocca family's 18th-century "La Ca' Növa" estate perched atop the renowned Montestefano vineyard, a place untouched by time with untold beauty. In recent years their Barbarescos have reached new heights surpassing some of the most esteemed estates in the eyes of many. Their Montefico bottling is sourced from a special parcel called Vigna Bric Mentina, which lies at the best part: the top of the sloping vineyard, facing south where the grapes receive the most sunlight. Their Montefico expresses rose petals, lavender, spice, crunchy dark berries, and a minty essence, a hallmark of the cru.166
