Taurės

Wine bar Taurės (meaning glasses in Lithuanian) is part of a great gastronomic project called Senatorių Pasažas, a restored historical mansion in the center of Vilnius dedicated to food culture. Besides the wine bar, you can find here a culinary bookstore, bakery, brasserie, fine-dining restaurant, and stores dedicated to fresh vegetables and meat.

Keeping with the spirit of the rest of the courtyard, and inspired by Nordic aesthetics, Taurės has a stylish but relaxed feeling about it. The wine list has a strong emphasis on low intervention, organic and biodynamic wines, with a good balance between classic and new up-and-coming wine regions and styles. Despite being quite short, the list is diverse, well-priced, and offers an exciting selection of small, interesting producers. And if you are keen on more famous classics and ready to splash out a bit, you can ask for the separate wine cellar list, which includes some Champagne, Bordeaux, or Italian gems with a good choice of older vintages.

The wine-by-the-glass list in the bar is equally interesting and is always changing, which means that most of the time when you come, there is something new to try. The service at Taurės is friendly, and simple but attentive, which creates a very relaxing atmosphere.

A big bonus of the bar is that if you wish, you can sit outside all year long, as the courtyard is equipped with heaters, and when you become hungry you can order snacks or more substantial meals from the other courtyard venues like charcuterie store Dešros or grill bar Muu.
