About Spiros

Perched on the way to the mountains in the upper part of Almaty, Spiros is a gem of contemporary Greek cuisine. The restaurant is dedicated to the nomadic spirit of the Cycladic islands and its name, meaning "gift of the soul" in Greek, perfectly encapsulates the heartfelt, familial atmosphere that greets every visitor. As a casual dining spot, Spiros manages to maintain an air of refinement and meticulous attention to detail that is evident from the moment you walk through the door.

The ancient Greeks were the first to integrate wine into their social rituals, and Spiros continues this tradition with a wine list carefully curated by Head Sommelier Dmitrii Belobrovskii. The list not only speaks to the Greeks' heritage but goes further: it is divided into three thematic sections — Genesis, Heritage, and Inspiration — each designed to take guests on a journey from the maritime routes of ancient Greek migrations to the legacy of European wine appellations, and the innovative winemaking of the New World.

Every part of the wine list is thoughtfully designed to complement the innovative Greek dishes, rethought by the talented chef Ruslan Zakirov, creating a cohesive and immersive dining experience. The synergy between Zakirov's culinary creations and Belobrovskii's wine selections ensures that every meal at Spiros is a celebration of both past and present.

Whether you are a wine aficionado or simply a lover of exquisite dining, Spiros offers an unforgettable experience that beautifully bridges the past and the present.
