About Restaurante El Churrasco
In the heart of Córdoba’s Jewish quarter, visit one of the most emblematic and classic Andalusian-style places: El Churrasco. This mythical spot, known for its typical Córdoban cuisine, also stands out for its extensive wine list.
Although they do not currently have the expert guidance of a sommelier (until recently, the renowned Ángel González performed that function), the wine experience at El Churrasco more than holds its own against other restaurants. Its list is a gem in its own right, housing an astonishing collection ranging from young wines to old and mythical vintages that will delight any discerning palate.
The cellar, located in the adjoining building, is an Ali Baba's cave for wine lovers. Here, the bottles are lovingly stored, waiting to be uncorked. From robust Rioja reds to elegant Galician whites, the offer is so varied that you could visit the restaurant every day of the year and still not try the same wine twice.
Start with a Montilla-Moriles fino, which they produce themselves, perfect to whet your appetite and be seduced by its flavours. The recommendation is to order from the wine list directly by the bottle and, if you have the opportunity, you can visit the winery.
