About La Régalade
Clermont-Ferrand may not be the most gastronomically well-known city in France, even though it is home to Michelin. And while it is not sprinkled with stars for food, the city has one thing going for it: La Régalade. The wine bistro has become a regular at our French wine list awards, and internationally, with its incredible selection of wines from France and abroad – and for very good prices. On our recent visit, we splashed out on a bottle of 2010 Rayas Blanc. For €265, there is no place across all of Star Wine List where you get a better deal.
Cyril Sartre and team have built the bistro, and the wine shop next door, over many years and it is a home for regulars but, lately, also traveling wine lovers. With the accolades from Star Wine List, this little gem is not a secret anymore.
Food-wise, it is a casual bistro with wine-friendly dishes. The house-made pâté en croûte is not to be missed but, to be honest, it is the wine list and knowledge in this house that we are ready to travel for. Santé!
