Fernando Gastrotheque, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is a beautifully designed culinary gem nestled in Sliema. With a cosy capacity of around 30 covers spread across two floors, it offers an intimate dining experience. Executive Chef Kurt Micallef crafts modern cuisine that is both flavourful and rooted in classic recipes. His innovative fusion dishes seamlessly blend Mediterranean and Asian influences, delighting the palate with each bite.
The restaurant boasts an impressive wine list of 750 references, thoughtfully curated for quality and diversity. The list is well-organized and easy to navigate, featuring a broad international selection of both renowned and boutique producers. With over 75 wines available by the glass, guests can explore and enjoy a variety of styles to complement every dish.
Fernando Gastrotheque's wine list was honoured as the best in Malta for both 2022 and 2023 by the Definitely Good Guide Restaurants Awards.
Personally, I enjoy the unique artistry on its walls, curated by local artist Joanne Falzon. These portraits of both lesser-known and prominent figures in the wine industry add a captivating visual element to the dining experience.
