About Crapule
After five years managing a live entertainment bar in Vannes, Charlotte and Benoît Michaud relocated to Hong Kong and immersed themselves in the city’s vibrant, wine-focused dining scene. A decade later, bolstered by solid experience in wine and management, they returned home to Brittany and opened their own restaurant, right next to Vannes’s market hall.
With a rotation of more than 150 references on the wine list – and more in the cellar to take home – guests are invited to choose from a large range of French wines, where the Loire Valley and Burgundy take prime spots. No room for dogma here: conventional and organic producers sit side by side on a list guided by taste and emotion rather than production methods.
Fittingly, the couple have named their venture after their daughter’s nickname – a reflection of their friend-and-family approach to hospitality. Guests can share small plates and a glass in the bar area, or decide to go for the full dining experience upstairs. Inspired by classic bistro traditions but led by the finest local, seasonal produce, the chefs deliver a generous, quality-driven menu of meat, fish and vegetables. It’s the perfect playground for Charlotte’s wine selection.
