The journey begins with two white wine flights spanning several decades – featuring big names like Robert Weil and Chapoutier, as well as highlights like Batard Montrachet Grand Cru and a rare Chablis cuvée. In the red wine category, Jürgen Drawert brings a star to the table with the legendary 1947 Pétrus – but strong competitors from the same vintage are challenging its place at the top. The other flights also feature top rarities, including a 1961 L’Evangile (100 points from Jane Anson) and a Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from 1928. Of course, exotic wines and pirates are also part of the blind tasting. The noble sweet finale leads back to 1911 – with a 1959 Château d’Yquem as the benchmark that its competitors could certainly challenge.
