It’s here, the news you’ve all been waiting for – the location of the Star Wine List of the Year Global Final 2026! On 15 June, our international Gold Stars will convene in southern Sweden, hosted by Terra Skåne. It’s set to be a wine party like no other.

We are busy taking the Star Wine List of the Year tour across the world for the 2025/’26 season – five regions down (plus the online International Open), nine to go. But we don’t stop with these regional competitions – we take the rivalry one step further, pitting Gold Star winners from across the globe against each other for one final battle, at the Star Wine List of the Year Global Final.

“After having held our previous Global Finals in major cities like London, Vienna and Stockholm, we can’t wait to bring our celebration to the exciting new wine region of Terra Skåne in southern Sweden,” says Krister Bengtsson, Star Wine List’s Founder and Publisher. “It is such a beautiful surrounding and, with the midsummer light, this will be an event to remember for our finalists and guests traveling from all corners of the world.”

The Global Final is the ‘All Stars’ of the sommelier scene and we are excited to announce that this year’s event will be held in southern Sweden, hosted by our partners at Terra Skåne, a new collective formed to promote the wine and wineries of the region. The event will comprise a full day’s worth of activities on 15 June 2026, showcasing Terra Skåne’s vineyards, wines and people to our illustrious bunch of global Gold Star winners – the elite of the sommelier world.

You might have spied pictures from previous Global Finals (formerly named the “International Final”), or even joined us in London, or Stockholm, or Vienna for one such event. It’s a day full of revelry, rivalry, but also immense respect as our sommelier teams gather to laud one another’s work in creating the wine lists that the wine lovers of the world get to enjoy. Any venue that wins a Gold Star in an ‘international’ category at a Star Wine List of the Year event in 2025/’26 will be invited to send representatives from their wine or restaurant teams to join Star Wine List at the Global Final with Terra Skåne.

“Terra Skåne is about joining forces and telling a shared story of the wine landscape that has taken shape in north-western Skåne,” says Linus Svensson, Project Manager for Terra Skåne. “There is immense knowledge and passion among the wine producers, and through collaboration we want to make it easier for more people to discover Swedish wines and experience the region. And for this, Star Wine List offers the international stage Terra Skåne needs to introduce Sweden as a wine destination.”

The full itinerary is yet to be revealed but all existing finalists (from completed awards events from this season) will be contacted to save the date. As we learn our new Gold Stars around the world, those in eligible categories will also be invited to join us.

See who’s included in the Global Final line-up – we will update this page as more Gold Stars across the world are announced.
