Wine and spirits professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region will soon journey to the landmark that is the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore, for Vinexpo Asia 2025 – a premium trade show uniting 950 exhibitors from 40 countries under one roof.
Austrian Wine will be bringing the wines of Austria to the heart of this dynamic, burgeoning wine market, and introducing a selection of renowned wineries at stand E023. “This is our second time participating at Vinexpo Asia,” says Patrick Eppacher, Head of Markets International at Austrian Wine. “We first exhibited in 2023. However, our presence this year is significantly larger: we will be showcasing 24 wineries across 19 booths (with nearly 200 wines), compared to 15 wineries last time.”
In addition, they are hosting a masterclass with Star Wine List of the Year judge Stephen Wong MW on 27 May entitled “Austria meets Asia: Crisp, Cool, Contemporary.”
“Stephen visited Austria during the VieVinum fair in Vienna in 2024 and 2022,” says Patrick, “and has toured our wine regions. He brings firsthand knowledge and stories ‘from the vineyard’ to the masterclass. We truly appreciate his vibrant, natural, and positive energy – it aligns perfectly with the spirit of Austrian wine.”
What’s more, there will be a series of pop-up seminars, run by both Stephen and Annette Scarfe MW. “We are running a daily tasting bar at our stand, featuring rotating pop-up seminars,” explains Patrick. “On the first day, we will present “Austria’s New Wave” – a showcase of alternative styles and fresh interpretations. “Wine List Wonders” focuses on Austria’s signature white wines – the must-haves for every wine list, from by-the-glass selections to rare finds. “Red Alert,” held on Wednesday, offers insights into Austria’s red wine scene, highlighting varieties such as Zweigelt, St. Laurent, and Blaufränkisch.”
