Nyetimber: England’s sportiest sparkling wine

In yet another boost for Nyetimber’s sporting credentials, the English sparkling wine producer has just announced a new partnership, with British Cycling. A busy summer of activities has just got even busier!
Partner story with Nyetimber.
The mint green Nyetimber Bus has become a familiar sight at many quintessentially English events. The 1968 Routemaster recently travelled to West Kensington in London for the tennis championships at Queen’s Club (a known precursor to Wimbledon, soon to be held nearby) and, on 1st July, it will park up along the river at Henley-on-Thames since Nyetimber is the official sparkling wine of Henley Royal Regatta – the pinnacle of the international rowing calendar.
Last year, excited fans could purchase a specially-labelled bottle of the Classic Cuvee to celebrate Nyetimber’s role as the official sparkling wine of Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. And new for this year, we have just learned that Nyetimber has partnered with British Cycling, bringing it into another sport providing a source of national pride in the UK.

Nyetimber and British Cycling
The new collaboration is based on the mutual dedication to excellence shared by the two organisations. “Nyetimber has a long history of partnering with iconic British sporting institutions,” says the producer’s CEO and Owner, Eric Heerema, “and it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to engage further with cyclists of all abilities across the country.
“There are a lot of synergies between us as partners, and our DNA shares the same passion, dedication and vibrancy. Nyetimber is all about celebrations, whether big or small – an ethos that is echoed by British Cycling in its encouragement to help everyone achieve and celebrate their goals in the sport.”
Based in West Sussex, Nyetimber produces exclusively sparkling wines from 11 estate-owned vineyards across its home county, plus Kent and Hampshire. Bought by Dutch entrepreneur Heerema in 2006, it has established itself as England’s pre-eminent producer, releasing the country’s first ever prestige and single-vineyard cuvées, as well as a demi-sec.

Nyetimber will now join British Cycling’s impressive roster of events. Podium riders at the women’s Lloyds Tour of Britain were rewarded with magnums of the wine in early June, and the men’s winners will receive the same in September.
“We are delighted to welcome Nyetimber on board to join our growing family of valued partners and help to elevate the multitude of joyous moments we must celebrate in our sport,” says Darren Henry, Chief Commercial Officer at British Cycling. “This leading British brand aligns with our values and the excellence we endeavour to bring to everything that we do.
“We are thrilled Nyetimber will be celebrating riders’ accomplishments and supporting our world-class events including the biggest free-to-attend sporting event in the UK; the Lloyds Tour of Britain, and the National Road and Track Championships.”
With a summer of sport in full swing and plenty of celebrations still to be had, expect to see a lot more Nyetimber bubbles over the next few months.
