Curious to (re)discover the finest Austrian wines? Visit the ÖTW at Wine Paris
Wine Paris 2025 is less than a month away and, as excitement builds, we hear what first-time exhibitor, Austria’s Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (ÖTW) has in store for the fair’s international attendees.

If you’re heading to Wine Paris in February, make a beeline for international hall four, booth number F283-1. Here, you’ll find the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter (ÖTW) in a 160-metre-square kiosk housing 24 of its member wineries, each pouring their most prestigious Erste Lage wines and thus offering you the chance to explore Austria anew – even for stalwart fans of the region’s wines, there will always be something to discover.
Founded in 1992, the ÖTW is an association of around 90 winegrowers aiming to formalise their classification system for Austria’s single vineyards (known as “Ried”); with the parameters now defined, the next step is to bring them into force from a legal perspective over the coming years. It is hoped that this will ease navigation for wine lovers through Austria’s appellations and, at the same time, showcase the unique characteristics of the country’s multitudinous regions, soils, climates, grape varieties and producers.
This will be the first year that the ÖTW has exhibited at Wine Paris. After welcoming new CEO Michael Tischler-Zimmermann in early 2024, the association has spent the past year enhancing its Single Vineyard Summit (presenting the annual release of all ÖTW Erste Lage wines each September). But what will 2025 – and Paris – bring? We asked Michael for his insight.
Why are you excited to be joining Wine Paris?
“It is a vibrant fair with an exciting development over the last years. We are looking forward to meeting old friends at the fair. But we are also excited to encounter new ones whom we couldn't meet in Düsseldorf.”
How is Wine Paris different to other trade shows?
“The hall with the international exhibitors will certainly still have to compete for attention in Paris. Nevertheless, the fair offers new networking opportunities due to the unique composition of the visitors' origins.”
What would you like the world to know about Austrian wine and winemakers?
“If you're curious enough to (re)discover the finest Austrian wines, then the stand of the ÖTW members is the best opportunity to do so. In a strongly value-driven community, it is especially appealing to seek exchange with its members and engage in discussions. For this, we have created the necessary space and ambience in Paris.”
You're about a year into your role as CEO – what's in store for 2025?
“2025 will see a careful rebranding, which we will roll out over the first half of the year and officially present at this year's Summit. Next, a more international presence with our activities and stronger bonds to our international partners.”
