6 ways Red Stars can promote their restaurants on Star Wine List

If your restaurant or wine bar is a Red Star on Star Wine List, your profile gives you access to a whole load of useful features – are you making the most of them?
Ok, so you're listed on Star Wine List with with a Red Star profile. Great start!
But did you know that teams at these establishments have the power to scan thousands of other wine lists, feature events, upload photos, update wine lists and food menus, edit contact information and list their team members – all at the tips of their fingers?
That’s right. Let’s take a look at all the cool things Red Star teams can manage by logging in to their Star Wine List account. For full instructions, take a look at this handy guide.
For more information on how we choose Red and White Stars, our categories are explained here.
1. Search over 3,000 wine lists to benchmark your own
If your wine list is up to date (within the last 90 days – instructions on updating here), you'll get access to our Pro Search for extra market insights. This analytics function allows you to scan our registered wine lists across the globe for producers, regions, vintages, cuvées, prices and all sorts. It's used by fellow somms, producers and importers worldwide, giving you the inside track.
2. Add an event to our international calendar
We list events happening around the world for the entire wine-loving community, from trade professionals to press, to consumers hoping to drink something interesting. If you’ve got a date for our calendar (a tasting, producer dinner, fair or festival, for example), add it as an event and boost ticket sales/attendance.
3. Make your wine team world-famous!
Credit where credit's due: it’s people who make a wine experience and so we proudly feature the wine teams at our venues. Update your staff's names, job titles and images by logging in to your account. Go on, show your team to the world (if they want to be seen, of course).
4. Post an “Update” on our homepage
As you scroll down the Star Wine List homepage, you’ll see an “Updates” section just below our latest wine stories. This is for you! If you’ve just updated your wine list, or you’ve got an event coming up, or a special menu about to hit, we don't just want to know about it – we want to flag it up to our readers as soon as they land on our site. Get yourself featured on our homepage by highlighting anything that’s new and exciting.
5. Feature beautiful photos of your venue
Upload additional images to the gallery on your venue's profile. While Star Wine List always chooses the main image, it's really useful to show guests more of what they're in for if they visit. Note: your own images won't show up if you do not already have a main image selected; no worries if this is the case – upload as normal and then email us to activate images on your profile.
6. Edit key company information
We want to ensure that your address, opening hours, contact email and social media handles are all correct. We're also aware that things evolve over time. Has something changed? Make sure people are getting the right details.
Please note that some of these features are also available to White Star venues. Take a look at our full instructions for details.
