PLURIBUS expresses the character of an estate located at an elevation over 1, 100 feet on the dramatic slopes of Spring Mountain. The name refers to the Latin word for many, and was chosen to signify the various facets involved in creating a fine wine: from the sun, soil, and climate of a vineyard, to the team of people who guide a wine through its evolution. A breathtaking mountainous 7-acre site with steep exposures to the north, east and southeast, the soil is comprised of volcanic bedrock. Pluribus, which debuted in the 2003 vintage, is defined as a bold, rich and concentrated wine, elements of dark plum, roasted coffee, and scents of cedar are inherent throughout the vintages.

Clos de los Siete is a world-class emblem of acknowledged international success. It is a compelling human story of passion for a piece of land in Argentina, An unprecedented challenge and a unique, novel concept: 1. 850 hectares (2, 100 acres) of vines at the foot of the Andes Mountains, in the Uco Valley near Mendoza. 2. 4 bodegas run by 4 passionate Bordeaux families . 3. 1 single wine named “Clos de los Siete”, blended by Michel Rolland, the originator of the project. Michel Rolland first went to Argentina in 1988. He immediately fell in love with the country, the atmosphere there, the people, the beautiful landscape and the culture, as well as its fantastic winegrowing potential. After searching around for a while, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Mendoza, the last city before reaching the majestic Andes he and Jean Michel Arcaute, a winegrower from Pomerol in the Bordeaux area, found an ideal plot of land at an altitude of 1, 100 meters (3, 600 feet). Masút Vineyard and Winery crafts premium California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from their estate vineyard on the mountainous Eagle Peak, Mendocino County. Proprietors, Ben and Jake Fetzer have worked in the wine industry ever since they can remember. Their family first came to California’s Mendocino County in the 1950s to grow wine grapes. In 1994, the brothers began planting a new vineyard called Masút, and their passion for hillside Pinot Noir was born. Years later the brothers created a new appellation called Eagle Peak to help define this little known winegrowing hideout, and built a winery in honor of their late father Robert Fetzer. Robert named the ranch Masút after the indigenous people that once lived here, whose culture held the Earth’s subterranean world with the greatest respect.

The history of wine in these lands is intertwined with the history of our family. It all began in far-off 1970 with the commitment and enthusiasm of a wine-grower who firmly believed in his dream: to promote both the typical wines of Usini and his region with its unique features. Despite the success achieved, we remain true to our roots and consider ourselves first and foremost winegrowers, protagonists of each production phase, from the vineyard to the bottle, and custodians of this farming, cultural and human heritage. Today, we still safeguard and promote the environment in which our wines have originated: an intertwining of fragrances and sensations of wind and sun, of land and people.

Taking our name from the old Hazel Fern farm in Portland, our journey from 5-gallon carboys in our basement to our historic Chehalem Mountains farmhouse, has been a wild ride since 2006. Sparked by the loss of a young family member and quarter-life crisis in 2014, we traded in our daily commute for a tractor and the wine life. We make our wine to be paired with good music, great people, memorable stories & delicious farm dinners. We’ve honed our craft through hustle, hard work, and hours of drinking with friends.
