Ann: Voskehat, 2020 Zulal, Vayots Dzor, Armenia, Certain wines can take on the essence of people and when I first took a sip of this wine it reminded me of everyone’s first movie crush Miss Honey from Matilda. This Voskehat is just simply pretty. So many tropical notes laced between honeysuckle and a subtle herbal backbone to hold it all together. The scene that specifically plays in my mind is when Matilda and Miss Honey sit down and have a picnic and they are both happy and what better to pair with the sunshine, happiness, and whimsy than a stunning wine like this. We aren’t QUITE to spring picnic weather but we sure are on the way. Suspend your disbelief for one night and pretend you’re having a picnic with Miss Honey. Then grapple with the fact that you both wanted to date her and have her adopt you and be your mother, $16
