About L'Envie

A familial restaurant in a pretty part of Belgium that's often overlooked but worth a visit.

The restaurant is neat and modern, and the chef is passionate about his cooking, using high quality products that are always treated with respect. I like the fact that you can still choose to dine à la carte, an option getting rarer in this sort of establishment these days.

Inès provides a warm welcome, and she is the driving force behind one the most exciting wine lists I have seen recently. She and her husband are passionate about Champagnes and sparkling wines, so they have chosen to separate their wine list in to two: there is one full, thick book purely for bubbles, with an extensive choice of very well-chosen estates and producers. I really enjoyed seeing that, for each producer on that list, most of the cuvées produced were available, providing a depth rarely seen on wine lists.

The list of still wines is also pretty exciting, boasting some older vintages, ready to drink and enjoy.
